All the tiles in our catalogue are Twyford. Its catalogue lists a lot of codes, so here is what they mean.
Made in Kenya
Twyford tiles are made by KEDA, which runs three factories in Kenya:
- Kajiado, near Umma University, on 60 acres
- Miwani, Kisumu, on 150 acres, producing since 2022
- Isinya, on the Nairobi–Namanga highway, on 20 acres, producing since June 2025 (the larger 50 × 50 and 60 × 60 formats)
Twyford's own slogan is "Buy Kenya, Build Kenya".
Formats
Sizes are given in millimetres, width × length.
- 250 × 400: wall tiles
- 300 × 300 and 400 × 400: ceramic floor tiles
- 500 × 500 and 600 × 600: larger floor tiles, including polished granito
Bigger tiles mean fewer grout lines and a more open-looking floor. Smaller tiles are easier to lay on floors that are not perfectly flat.
Series codes
The letters at the start of a model number tell you the series:
- FGP, BLO, FGB: floor tile series in 300 × 300 and 400 × 400
- PMCP: 250 × 400 wall tiles, including HD inkjet designs
- YMP, PGS, PGC, FGC: 500 × 500 and 600 × 600 floor tiles
- FGE: zero-joint tiles (below)
Zero-joint tiles
The FGE series is 400 × 400 with a fine, smooth edge and, according to Twyford, no size variation. Because every tile is the same size, they can be laid with a very narrow joint and minimal grout, which gives a neat, almost seamless floor.
Finishes
Twyford describes its ranges as waterproof and antifouling, with anti-slip options for floors, mirror-surface glazes, and HD inkjet printing that does not fade. For floor tiles it recommends bedrooms, living and dining rooms, hotels and malls.
